Capitoline Museums

They are housed in buildings in Michelangelo's Piazza del Campidoglio. The complex sees its origins from some works donated by the Pope to the citizens in 1471, thus constituting the oldest example in the world of a public museum. In the seventeenth-century Villa Borghese whose park is among the most loved and popular in Rome.
